Genus Acentria - The thorax and abdomen lack filamentous gills (Fig. 1). The ventral surface of the abdomen contain crochets, which are biordinal (two different lengths of segments that make up the crochet)(Fig. 2). A Body picture of Acentria in Figure 3.

Genus Petrophila - The thorax and abdomen contain filamentous gills (Fig. 4). That mandibles are prominent and adapted for scraping algae off rocks (Fig. 5). A full body picture of Petrophila in Figure 6.
